As we prepare to close out 2024, I find myself reflecting on what has been an extraordinary year for Third Equation. It’s been a year of milestones, challenges, and the unwavering commitment of a team and community dedicated to building a better future for energy distribution.
A Year of Firsts and Achievements
2024 has been a year of turning big ideas into tangible realities. This year, we successfully developed the 1 MV Network Exchanger (NEx), our first working production model. This milestone represents much more than a technological breakthrough—it’s proof of our commitment to transforming energy distribution to meet the challenges of a zero-carbon future.
We didn’t stop there. The introduction of the Nano model marked another step forward, allowing us to showcase its potential at key events like Enlit in October. Standing at Enlit as the only company in the distribution technology space demonstrating operational, grid-enhancing technology was a moment of immense pride for all of us.
These accomplishments are critical steps toward achieving a zero-carbon energy grid, where technologies like the NEx—working in harmony with others—play a vital role in unlocking the full potential of renewable generation.
Facing the Challenges of a Complex Industry
We know that meaningful change in the utilities sector takes time. It’s a slow-moving industry where relationships, trust, and persistence are essential. While innovation teams are often our first point of contact, success depends on reaching deeper into organizations to connect with operational decision-makers who can bring these innovations to life.
